House of KuKo and Lingu Kaisa are hosting Kompott Kabaree

On May 2 and 3, the Gutenberg club will offer an unprecedented cultural treat that combines drag and vaudeville blues. Helmehirmutis, Labia Koidula, Dykeonaut, Delfi Oraakel and Will Hung will serve up a variety of Estonian songs, accompanied by a hushed nightingale song by top Estonian blues singer Kaisa Ling, accompanied by Rene Paul on the piano.

Drag is a performing art in which participants aim to embody and comment on gender roles and norms in society, often performing various performances, songs and dance numbers. Although today many associate drag with the American TV series "RuPaul's Drag Race", drag has also been present in Estonian cultural space for a long time - for example, in Tartu it was part of the student fox theater already at the end of the 19th century.

Doors open at 6pm, show starts at 7pm.
