EXHIBITION // The Many Faces of MIA vol. 3
The Many Faces of MIA vol. 3 - Mia Melanie Saare brings self-portraits through the years to the Aparaaditehas - a journey filled with emotions and colors into the artist's diverse faces and stories. The exhibition will open as part of the 16th edition of Gallery night vol. 16 at the Aparaaditehas Corridor Gallery (door no. 2, 2nd floor) on August 29, open from 18:00–23:00, the official opening will take place at 20:00.
Mia Melanie Saar brought her first solo exhibition The Many Faces of MIA vol. 1 to the audience in 2020 in Aparaaditehas. This exhibition marked the beginning of her creative journey. Now, five years later, the artist returns with the third chapter of the same series to reveal how her different sides have developed over time and taken on diverse forms.
The exhibition focuses on Mia's annual self-portraits, each of which reflects the exact moment in which the artist was at the time - her creative style, inner world and feelings. In addition, new works are on display that reveal another layer of her faces and stories.
Art Gallery
Mia Melanie Saar is a young Estonian painter, co-founder and curator of Laude Galerii, who tells the stories of herself and her loved ones through emotionally charged works and colorful brushstrokes.
Mia comes from the fields and forests of Southern Estonia and grew up on a farm where her ancestors have lived for five generations. Art has been an honor in her family for several generations, and the connection to her hometown and roots is a recurring theme in her work. She dissects being human from different angles, offering both the joy of recognition and discovery with her stories.
Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Estonia and abroad, including in London and Porto. Mia graduated from the Pallas Art School in painting and continued her studies at the NABA University in Rome. On her creative path, she has experimented with different techniques, but her works are always characterized by an abundance of emotions and the boldness of bright tones, sometimes reaching the borders of surrealism and naïveté. By now, the artist feels that she has achieved her own unique style - but what to call it more precisely, only time will tell.
