EXHIBITION // "Embrace and Dance"
On February 12th, at 19.00 we invite you to the opening of “Embrace and Dance”, a group exhibition by TYPA’s two residency artists.
Nelly Toussaint and Tania Bàkum have been in residence at TYPA for two months. They are different. Nelly is originally from France but has been living in Finland for eight years. Her main media are printmaking and embroidery. Tania is originally from Ukraine and works with performative photography.
"Embrace and Dance" is the mantra of their residency. In the creative process, not everything goes according to plan, and not everything happens perfectly or as one would like. That is why it is important to be able to maintain balance and to embrace one’s mistakes. This is what they did. They worked to the fullest, while accepting the imperfection of the ideas as they were realized. And after that, they danced, accepting their work as “good enough.”
"Embrace and Dance" is about the ability to keep a balance between expectations and results, and about working with imperfection in reality.
Rõdugalerii is at Kastani 42, in Aparaaditehas' courtyard, entrance door number 7, second floor. Gallery is open from Wed-Sun 12-18.
