CONCERT // Secret album preview : Anna Lea "Public Transportation"

On 16 May, music lovers will have the chance to go behind the scenes of how singer Anna Lea's forthcoming studio album was born. A pre-listening evening for the album "Public Transportation" will take place in the Armastuse Hall of the Aparaaditehas in Tartu, where the singer will open up about the background of the songs, the recording process, co-musicians, pains, joys and everything else that comes with the release of the album. You will also be able to listen exclusively to the unreleased tracks from the album for up to two weeks before the album's actual release date. We'll also be treating guests to a welcome drink and the bar will be open! Don't miss this opportunity and be one of the first to hear these tracks.

The evening will be moderated by reporter Hilary Karu with Sorrification as DJ!

Anna Lea is a young and talented singer-songwriter, whose wide vocal range and ability to play smoothly between different musical styles is reflected in her work.
Her lyrics are philosophical and contemplative, interweaving emotion through humour and painful truths. The singer's music straddles the boundaries of different styles - there's music in both Estonian and English, for the lover of classic jazz, lighter harmony pop, rhythmic funky, soul with powerful vocals, and jazzy fusion. It's all tied together into a cohesive whole by the combined breath and graceful interpretation of skilled musicians.
Anna Lea Haamer Quintet is the young singer's self-titled ensemble, active since autumn 2019.

The quintet was assembled from dear friends and very good musicians to record Anna Lea's original music. They have now been performing with intermittent success for 4 years. Even though they are still a relatively new and little known group, they have performed at Philly Joe's jazz club in Tallinn, Aparaaditehas in Tartu, Tudengijazz stages and Juu Jääb festival. In 2020 they released their debut short album "Prospects" with music by Anna Lea.
