Weekend Guitar Trio is a real mystery... The trio plays their own complex form of ambient music, which they have impressively deepened and expanded over the years and which was convincingly confirmed at their concert. Now a household name in Europe, Weekend Guitar Trio prefers to perform at music festivals, where they can focus 100% on the music.
– Henning Bolte, London Jazz
Robert Jürjendal 60 / Weekend Guitar Trio 33's program is a cross-section of a 30-year period of activity. The program features music from various genres, united by an improvisational and imaginative sound language. In addition, they perform newly completed compositions for three electric guitars.
Weekend Guitar Trio (WGT) has released six albums under its own name over the years and several collaborations with Vox Clamantis, Jan Bang (Norway), Toyah Willcox (England) and Markus Reuter (Germany). The trio has performed at many prestigious jazz and new music festivals in Finland, Germany, Great Britain, France, Switzerland, Norway, Japan and Moldova (e.g. Marciac Jazz Festival, London Jazz Festival, PUNKT festival etc.). WGT's work is characterised by composed and improvised music for three electric guitars and electronics. The trio has been influenced by jazz, electronic music and world music. Their music has been heard on BBC 3's music programme and on many European radio stations. WGT has collaborated with the best Estonian DJs, the British DJ duo Spring Heel Jack, several percussionists (Brian Melvin, John Wieczorek), folk musicians (Celia Roose, Tuule Kann) and singers (Kadri Hunt, Priit Lehto).
The organizer may take pictures, videos and audio recordings at the event and share them with participants and in public media channels, as well as use them for marketing similar events.
The Estonian Jazz Association's concert program is supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Cultural Endowment.
