WORKSHOP // Sashiko Mending Night
Sashiko is a type of traditional Japanese embroidery used for decorative and functional reinforcement of clothing. It's a technique, that is simple at it's base and that gives us endless possibilities to create intricate geometric patterns.
We will cover:
-The history of sashiko
-Introduction to the traditional patterns
-Necessary tools and equipment
-Constructing your own patterns
-Doing a small sashiko mending project with the pattern of your choosing
If you wish, you can bring an article of clothing that needs to be repaired.
The event is donation based.
